Ivan is a renaissance man. A medical doctor, a theoretical physicist, a theologian, but primarily an artist. After a commercially successful decade working as a painter in his native Hungary, Ivan chose to break free of the commercial requirements that underpinned his work at that time and go in search of a style that gave flight to his talent. Art as pure expression, unadulterated by the market.
From the moment, when still only a child, that he encountered Picasso, Ivan has been inspired by artists displaying courage. His love of Juan Miro and the excitement he felt when he first saw a Jackson Pollack and a Gerhard Richter combined to help him find his own unique voice.Ivan’s work is the rare combination of raw energy and subtle narratives that elevate his pieces beyond the abstract and into the arena of storytelling.
